The City of Chicago is a final candidate city to host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. If you are interested, here are a few opportunities to participate in the events surrounding the International Olympic Committee’s selection of the host city for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games on Friday, October 2nd:
1) View the events as they unfold live on a big-screen TV at the Reynolds Club. Television coverage will begin at 9:00AM. The announcement will be made at approximately 11:30 AM.
2) Head downtown to gather with Chicago2016 and fellow Chicagoans in Daley Plaza from 9:00AM-11:00AM to watch the decision. More information can be found at: http://www.chicago2016.org/be-part-of-it/10.2.09.aspx
3) Stay in Hyde Park and join Alderman Cochran, Alderman Dowell, and Alderman Preckwinkle as they host an Olympic celebration party at 52nd and Payne Dr. in Washington Park from 8:00AM until 10:00PM. Activities will include live television coverage, UniverSoul Circus© acts, and a DJ. Lunch will also be served.
