One Campus

One Campus is an effort to connect students with other members of the UChicago community: shuttle drivers, dining hall workers, front-desk staff, facilities and services staff, UCPD officers and security guards. On Tuesday, May 27th, students and non-academic staff will come together to share a meal.

Students benefit from the work of University staff every day, whether we're eating in the dining hall or lounging on the beautifully landscaped quads. But we rarely get the chance to show our appreciation for their work, and to recognize their role as vital members of our campus community. These shared meals will be a chance for students to express our gratitude.

We believe that the current disconnect between students and staff exists not because the groups do not want to get to know each other, but because there is no formal space for us to have conversations. We are hoping to create this space and for connections made during the event to continue to grow afterwards.
