Student Government works under a number of governing documents. The Student Government Constitution was ratified by the Student Association (the student body, undergraduate and graduate) in 2000, and outlines the fundamental structure and responsibilities of Student Government. It has been amended seven times, by a three-fifths vote of the Student Association. Under the Constitution, different parts of Student Government have also adopted by-laws detailing their membership, operation, and function. The General Assembly By-Laws, College Council By-Laws, Graduate Council By-Laws describe the operation of the respective body it governs.
